Welcome to the Adventure West Council

Spanning Northern Colorado, Western Nebraska and most of Wyoming the Adventure West Council  provides service for youth from age 5 to 21. The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America, incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916, is to provide an educational program for both boys and girls, as well as young adults to build character, to develop character, integrity and leadership in today’s youth through quality programs, outdoor experiences, and service to community.

It is the vision of the Adventure West Council to Prepare today’s youth for future success..

WE ARE ADVENTURE WEST COUNCIL’S

KOLA LODGE 464!

Mission – The mission of the Order of the Arrow is to fulfill its purpose as an integral part of the Boy Scouts of America through positive youth leadership under the guidance of selected capable adults.

Purpose – As Scouting’s National Honor Society, our purpose is to:

  • Recognize those who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and through that recognition cause others to conduct themselves in a way that warrants similar recognition.

  • Promote camping, responsible outdoor adventure, and environmental stewardship as essential components of every Scout’s experience, in the unit, year-round, and in summer camp.

  • Develop leaders with the willingness, character, spirit and ability to advance the activities of their units, our Brotherhood, Scouting, and ultimately our nation.

  • Crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.

  • CHIPETA Chapter (Serves the WAPITI district)
  • CHY-KOLA Chapter (Serves Frontier and High Altitude districts)
  • MEJAUCHSUWIN Chapter (Serves the GOLDEN PLAINS district)
  • OKHIZU Chapter (Serves the BIGHORN district)
  • WYAKA-LUTA Chapter (Serves the TRI-TRAILS district)
  • TATOKAINYANKA Chapter (Serves Northern Wyoming)

Lodge youth officers and adult advisers serve from Winter Festival for a one-year term. The lodge’s top four youth officers are elected each year at the first event weekend of Winter Festival. Adult associate lodge advisers are appointed by the Lodge Adviser for one-year terms. The Lodge Adviser and the Chapter Advisers are appointed for one-year terms by the Supreme Chief of the Fire (Council Scout Executive).
